The life of a wandering swordswoman is not without its trials — and it leaves a trail of blood in its wake. Chadhiyana: A Trail of Blood & Ash collects three new chapters of the saga of The Girl With the Fire-Ringed Eyes, each a stand-alone short written by J. M. DeSantis and published by Dark Fire Press.
From the pursuit of villainous men in “Two Birds,” to the ash-filled ruins of a city of rogue pyromancers in “Inner Flame,” to the creeping menace of “The Voice in the Crowd,” the issue spans 24 full-color pages that rotate through a line-up of artists alongside DeSantis himself — including Jackie Musto and Dana Sanguir, with cover art by Sha-Nee Williams. Lettering comes from veteran hand Mindy Lopkin, who has shaped the sound of the series since Chadhiyana #1: Rekindled and continues through In the Dwerrow Tomb.
Lovecraftian horror creeps into this installment as the collection descends into fire and madness. Perfect for fans of dark fantasy anthologies, sword-and-sorcery with a horror underbelly, and serialized collections in the spirit of Robert E. Howard’s Conan — the issue is in production, so watch its official page for updates.
