Xibalba. Roughly translated from the K’iche’ Maya as “place of fright” — a vast, dripping underworld ruled by death gods and hungry for the living. In Xibalba: The Real Wild West, that ancient place of fear bleeds into the frontier, and standing between the horrors and the town is Sheriff Etta. A sister series to Snake and Bang Bang Lucita, this is the NimProd universe’s darkest corner: western grit meeting Mesoamerican myth head-on.
The series was introduced to readers as an 11-page preview inside the Isle Squared Comics #1 anthology, before spinning into its own story of a frontier lawman hunting things that don’t belong above ground. Written by Chuck Amadori, drawn by Adrian Crisuadi, and colored by Nimesh Morarji, it’s a two-part saga of guardianship, grief, and things that claw up from below.
Perfect for fans of horror-tinged westerns and the winding, overlapping mythology of the NimProd western-fantasy universe. Pick up Xibalba: Enter at Your Own Risk as a digital or physical edition from the NimProd shop or on Amazon Kindle, and support the creators on Ko-fi.
